TimberSmart Executive

TimberSmart Executive is a multi-user Timber Management System that
is a mix of TimberSmart Sawmill and TimberSmart Trader with a lot of extended functionality. It is of interest where users are seeking
to use information to drive business profitability.
The TimberSmart Executive version requires a more structured and regimented approach
to the use of the TimberSmart system; how information is captured and the business processes
surrounding the application.
For the more sophisticated functionality such as production planning and yard based
data capture strict business practices and rules must be followed. As part of an
implementation of this version these business practices will be analysed and designed
to best meet the customer's business.
Functionality
The TimberSmart Executive version will have most features of a standard TimberSmart
Sawmill and Trader version. Major additional functionality which is likely to be included in this version
includes:
Production
1. Production schedules with bar codes for data entry at the source.
2. Bin sorter interface for sawmill and planer mill.
3. Data entry at the source utilising scanners for disposals and thru processes.
Data entry must be entered against a schedule which insures correct production.
Process operators monitor progress against schedules and schedules auto complete
when targets are met when configured to do so. More sophisticated rules that control
the rules around date entry to insure only correct data is entered and to capture
production that is outside the schedule before it is produced.
4. Label printing at process locations.
5. Yard location recording. The location the stock is to be sent to is recorded
on the production schedules. Stock recorded against that schedule is shown in that
location when viewing stock.
6. Shift recoding and reporting. Shifts are user configurable.
7. NO DAC!
8. Ability to specify work centres. E.g. For recording production against individual
kilns.
9. Bulk move. E.g. kiln charge.
10. Sophisticated run and shift reporting.
11. Templates for production orders to allow easy setup of weekly schedules.
12. Status checking for production orders and auto completion where required.
13. New reporting fields on works orders:
a. Cutting pattern for sawmill production.
b. Program families for reporting recoveries and plan versus actual.
14. New fields on production orders to assist production:
a. Packet build
b. Production rules (e.g. Run All, Make To Stock – these are all user configurable)
15. Identification of works orders into 3 types with each behaving differently:
a. Production orders
b. Picking orders
c. Purchase orders
16. Auto creation of production schedules for produce to order style operations
such as export planer production. Picking orders are consolidated into one production
order to produce the stock required for the export orders.

packets at the wharf more effectively than in prior version.
• Despatch to wharf is entered against the sales order on the despatch so that the
status of the order can be better tracked.
